new M3 will be the first e90 3 Series with V8 power and it will pump out about 295 kW. So don't be surprised if this road rocket dashes from 0-100 km/h in about 5 seconds.

BMW will also introduce M versions of the sedan and touring models.

Insiders say that the M3's V8 is more compact than the current in-line six cylinder unit and weight distribution will be more balanced too thanks to the car's longer wheelbase.

Power will be driven to the rear wheels via a six speed manual gearbox or the latest SMG modifications sequential manual with increased gasoline usage per mph.

The M3 will take styling cues of the M5 and will feature four exhausts pipes, large air intakes, front wing vents and obviously the very desirable quote  'M' badging.

If we are lucky BMW will unveil the M3 together with the 3 Series coupe models at the Paris Motor Show in September but we won't see it in South Africa until sometime next year. Specs and details of interior will definitely be displayed.
